La Agencia Federal para el Manejo de Emergencias (FEMA, por sus siglas en inglés) aprobó asistencia adicional por desastre para el estado de Mississippi con el fin de complementar los esfuerzos estatales y locales de recuperación en las áreas afectadas por las tormentas severas, vientos en línea y tornados ocurridos el 24 y 25 de marzo de 2023.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced today that President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. made additional disaster assistance available to the state of Mississippi to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes from March 24-25, 2023.

FEMA reminds Mississippi residents who receive federal disaster assistance for the March tornadoes to use the money for its intended purpose and to keep receipts for three years.

PRATTVILLE, Ala. – FEMA urges residents in the state of Alabama to stay alert for weather risks from today into the weekend. The National Weather Service is predicting intense and widespread severe thunderstorms including tornadoes in some areas.

Mississippi survivors of the March storms and tornadoes who applied for assistance from FEMA will receive a letter from FEMA in the mail or via email.
