Jefferson Parish, Louisiana: $7.40 million
Project Description
In Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, 47 flood-prone structures will be elevated to the effective Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) base flood elevation plus two feet. This project will begin the engineering design phase to inform on how to elevate the structures. The proposed options include elevating the existing structure, slab, elevation, or slab separation. Jefferson Parish will also install green infrastructure components to shield the structures from flooding events which will include rain barrels, rain gardens, and pervious pavement.
