Open Government

Congress regularly considers legislation to keep pace with technology and the inherent challenges and risks that come with it. Over the last several years the White House has made technology, data, and transparency a strategic priority. The May 9, 2013 Executive Order—Making Open and Machine Readable the New Default for Government Information and the May 9, 2013  Memorandum on Open Data Policy – Managing Information as an Asset (“the Open Data Memo”) mandated that government publish its information in standardized machine readable formats.
