Mr. Roth joined FEMA in 2009 as the FEMA Senior Infrastructure Officer (SIO) at the MWEOC where he was responsible for orchestrating and integrating FEMA into the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) technical architecture. As the FEMA SIO, Mr. Roth worked with every component of DHS to lead development, design, and execution of solutions for the full spectrum of FEMA All Hazards Emergency Management requirements.
As a certified Project Management Professional, Information Technology Service Management Specialist, and Continuity Practitioner, Mr. Roth has over 20 years of combined private sector and federal service supporting critical programs and operations. Mr. Roth is an integrated member of the MWEOC whole community as a member of key communities of interest and he leads collaboration with federal, state, and local partners supporting mission critical operations.
More recently, in his role as Director for the Mount Weather Information Technology Services Division, Mr. Roth lead cross-cutting initiatives supporting all MWEOC business lines and mission partners to enhance resilience. Most notably, Mr. Roth lead the unprecedented transformation of MWEOC information technology infrastructure, service delivery framework, and business operations. In recognition of this achievement, Mr. Roth and his Division received the 2018 FEMA Administrators Award for Innovation.
Prior to coming to FEMA, Mr. Roth supported DHS since its inception where he worked on programs and operations at US Customs and Border Protection in the areas of targeting, passenger systems, cargo systems, border management, enforcement communications, and enterprise management where he received multiple commendations for his work.
