FEMA is soliciting written comments from those agencies, organizations, and individuals regarding the Draft Programmatic Agreement governing FEMA’s responsibilities under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act with regards to federally funded actions in the State of Michigan.

Interested persons are hereby notified that The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Michigan State Historic Preservation Officer, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, the Michigan State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division, the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, and the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma have developed a programmatic agreement (PA) to streamline Section 106 reviews conducted by FEMA for federally funded actions in Michigan. The draft PA defines the responsibilities of FEMA, Michigan SHPO, Michigan State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division, and participating Tribal Nations in the review of these projects.
Anyone interested in providing comment on the draft PA may respond as noted below before October 4, 2024. Be sure to provide your name and contact information along with your comments.
If no substantive comments are received, the draft PA will become final and be presented for signature to the signatory parties.
