Welcome to the Region VIII Risk Mapping, Analysis, and Planning (Risk MAP) website! Region VIII covers 6 states, including Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. We are headquartered in Denver, Colorado.

Risk MAP is a national FEMA program to work with States, Tribes, and local communities to evaluate and better understand their current flood risk, as well as the actions that can be taken to mitigate and become more resilient against future risk. Know Your Risk

Floods are one of the most common and costly natural disasters in the nation and can happen in any location at anyWhen it comes to reducing risk from flooding, know your risk, know your role, take action! time. Remember, just because you haven’t experienced a flood in the past, doesn’t mean you won’t in the future. It is important for you to understand the flood risk to your property so that you can take steps now to keep your family, home and workplace safe from harm. Here are ways you can find out your property’s flood risk:

To learn more about the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and how to get flood insurance, visit www.Floodsmart.gov.
