FEMA and Mississippi Emergency Management Agency staff survey a flooded neighborhood in Clarksdale, Miss. during joint preliminary damage assessments.

The deadline to register with FEMA has passed, but survivors who registered should stay in touch with FEMA to keep their recovery on track.

Call the FEMA helpline to:

  • Get assistance with filing an appeal,
  • Find out the status of your application,
  • Ask questions about a letter you recieved from FEMA,
  • Discuss the documents needed to move an application forward.

The FEMA helpline number is 800-621-3362 (voice, 711 or video relay service). TTY users can call 800-462-7585. The toll-free lines are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Multilingual operators are available.

If you registered online at DisasterAssistance.gov, you can access your account and provide additional information to FEMA. Documents and appeal letters may also be faxed to FEMA at 800-827-8112.
