MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Residents of Clay, Norman, Traverse and Wilkin counties who sustained damage during the recent severe storms and flooding are urged to contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at 800-621-FEMA (3362) or online at

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- State and federal disaster officials urge Minnesota residents along the swollen Red River to remain vigilant as it prepares for a second crest within the next week. Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials encourage residents to continue monitoring weather reports and remain cautious. In addition, residents should:

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Emergency management officials in North Dakota and Minnesota are urging residents with basements flooded by the recent storms to use caution when pumping them out. Removing all of the water at once may cause serious structural damage to the house.

Public Assistance - Dollars Approved

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards
