Since the federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Michael, Gadsden County residents have received
nearly $8.5 million in total federal funds:*
Nearly $3 million in state and federal grants have gone to almost 1,138 homeowners and renters.
One flood insurance claims has been filed and $71,000 has been paid.
Nearly $5.5 million in U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans have been
approved for 224 homeowners and renters and 10 businesses.
Housing Assistance:
Nearly $1.4 million has been approved for basic housing repairs for 592 homeowners.
More than 41,000 home inspections have been issued and more than 99 percent completed.
Disaster Survivor Assistance teams have conducted outreach with 3,362 home visits helping with
registration, answering questions, providing case updates and making referrals to other recovery
partners for needs beyond what FEMA can assist with.
Gadsden County is approved for FEMA Direct Temporary Housing Assistance. Working with
Florida Division of Emergency Management, Gadsden County and Volunteer Florida, debris is
being cleared from private and commercial sites and travel trailers and manufactured housing
units are being provided for eligible households.
528 homeowners and renters are approved for rental assistance.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has installed 253 blue roofs in Gadsden County representing
253 families who are able to live in their homes while they make permanent repairs.
