The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Grant Programs Directorate (GPD) invites all potential HSGP applicants and sub-applicants (inclusive of the State Homeland Security Program, Urban Area Security Initiative, and Operation Stonegarden) to participate in one of the upcoming technical assistance webinars regarding the fiscal year (FY) 2023 HSGP. The FY 2023 HSGP will provide $1.12 billion in funding support to state, local, and territorial governments for security-related activities to prevent, prepare for, protect against, and respond to terrorist attacks.

FEMA announced it has obligated $10 million for flood resilience projects in New Jersey through its Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) Swift Current initiative, taking strides towards timely hazard mitigation by expediting money to communities working to become more resilient to floods.
The Field Leadership Directorate, within the Office of Response and Recovery at FEMA, is searching for experienced disaster management leaders for the launch of a new National Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) focused on Homeland Security Incidents. This team will be tasked with responding to incidents that fall outside of the authorities of the Stafford Act but require a coordinated federal or DHS response.
On Monday, Aug. 1, Vice President Kamala Harris and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced the selections and status of subapplications of its Fiscal Year 2021 pre-disaster hazard mitigation grant programs, Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) and Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA).
