Lee County Recovery at a Glance

Since the federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Ian, Lee County residents have received more than $281.9 million in federal funds as of Oct. 17, 2022:

  • $201.5 million in FEMA grants to homeowners and renters.
  • $45.7 million in claims paid to National Flood Insurance Program policyholders.
  • $34.7 million in U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans approved for homeowners, renters and businesses.

Individual Assistance in Lee County

  • 65,858 homeowners and renters have been approved for $201,469,072 in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program. This includes:
  • $144,224,614 in Housing Assistance grants for home repair, home replacement, and/or rental assistance.
  • $57,244,458 in Other Needs Assistance grants to replace essential household items and for other critical disaster-related expenses.
  • 11.278 homeowners and renters have been approved for rental assistance.
  • 44,574 home inspections issued; 30,341 completed.
  • Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) visited 4,722 households in Lee County.

U.S. Small Business Administration

  • SBA has approved $34,759,800 in low-interest disaster loans to 502 applicants in Lee County.
  • SBA is operating Business Recovery Centers at:
    • SWFL, Inc Office, 25071 Chamber of Commerce Dr., Bonita Springs, FL 34135
      • Hours: Monday – Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Kiwanis Club of Cape Coral, 360 Santa Barbara Blvd. S., Cape Coral FL 33991
      • Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Closed: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

National Flood Insurance Program

NFIP has paid $45,716,000 to policyholders who filed claims in Lee County.

Public Assistance

Lee County was approved for assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures and permanent work.
