BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge School Board will receive an additional $6.4 million in disaster recovery funding following the August 2016 floods. The aid will reimburse for emergency protective measures at 16 different educational facilities in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Federal funding will pay for recovery efforts such as flood clean up, demolition of damaged structures, debris removal services and other construction costs.

Saturday Hours Change for Centers in Oregon, Ozark and Stone Counties

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Carter County in the city of Van Buren and in Howell County in the city of West Plains will close permanently at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8. But survivors of the 2017 flooding and severe storms will still be able to get help with just a phone call.

Many of the services available at recovery centers are also available on the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.

Appealing a FEMA determination on a disaster assistance application is easy, but before acting, read your decision letter carefully and ask questions.

Disaster survivors may believe FEMA made an incorrect decision or question the type of help FEMA provided. Sometimes, FEMA can’t move forward on an application because key information is missing, such as proof of ownership or contractor’s estimate for repairs not covered.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri homeowners, renters and businesses that sustained property damage or loss caused by flooding and severe storms between April 28 and May 11, 2017 have four weeks left to register and apply for federal disaster assistance.

Aug. 1, 2017 is the deadline to register for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – As Missourians repair or rebuild their homes damaged by the flooding and severe storms that occurred April 28-May 11, 2017, FEMA and home improvement stores in Gasconade, Jasper, Jefferson, Ozark, Pemiscot, Ripley and St. Louis counties are teaming up to provide free information, tips and literature on making homes stronger and safer.
