New Milford elevates 16 flood-prone homes to stabilize the community during disasters.
New Milford, New Jersey: $3.92 Million
Project Description
The borough of New Milford in Bergen County, New Jersey, will elevate 16 residential properties in the Special Flood Hazard Area. Among these, seven properties are in the floodway. The 16 properties have received 57 severe repetitive and repetitive loss paid claims and the borough is committed to taking the necessary flood mitigation actions.
By elevating these flood-prone homes, first responders can prioritize critical services and infrastructure. This will help stabilize the community more effectively during disasters. The project entails elevating structures four feet above the base flood elevation to provide increased flood protection.
