St. Petersburg, Florida: $363,699

Project Description

The city of St. Petersburg will elevate a severe repetitive loss single-family residence after it received five National Flood Insurance Program claims payments. The structure was built in 1959 on a slab-on-grade foundation and is in the coastal AE flood zone with a Base Flood Elevation (BFE) of 9 feet. The structure’s lowest floor elevation is 4.1 feet, requiring the existing structure to be elevated at least 6.9 feet to meet the proposed minimum design flood elevation of 11 feet. The city will elevate the slab by constructing new footers and foundation walls to support the structure to protect against future 100-year storm events.
