AUSTIN, Texas – La fecha límite para los propietarios de viviendas, inquilinos y negocios que sufrieron daños o pérdidas por las tormentas e inundaciones que ocurrieron en julio en el centro de Texas para solicitar asistencia de la Agencia Federal para el Manejo de Emergencias (FEMA, por sus siglas en inglés) es a las 11:59 p.m. del domingo 28 de septiembre. Sin embargo, aún hay asistencia disponible de FEMA y de la Agencia Federal de Pequeños Negocios (SBA, por sus siglas en inglés).

AUSTIN, Texas – The federal disaster application deadline is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, for homeowners, renters and businesses with property damage and losses from the July flooding in Central Texas. But help is still available from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The recertification process is an important part of ensuring continued eligibility for FEMA's temporary housing programs. Recertification Advisors conduct monthly visits with Maui wildfire survivors in FEMA’s temporary housing programs to ensure they remain eligible for the assistance. A key eligibility requirement is that survivors must actively work toward securing a permanent housing solution. While the responsibility of finding permanent housing rests with the survivor, it is essential that they keep their Recertification Advisor informed of any challenges or barriers they encounter during this process.
