WASHINGTON - FEMA Administrator Brock Long announced that the federal cost-share for three major disaster declarations caused by wildfires in 2018 has increased from 75 to 90 percent for debris removal and emergency protective measures.
As part of the continuing resolution Congress passed on Feb. 15, the cost share increase is effective for the following disaster declarations:
- Oklahoma declaration 4373 declared from wildfires that occurred April 11-20, 2018.
- California declaration 4382 declared from wildfires that occurred July 23 – Sept. 19, 2018.
- California declaration 4407 declared from wildfires that occurred Nov. 8-25, 2018.
Under the continuing resolution, federal funds for debris removal and emergency protective measures, including direct federal assistance, are authorized at 90 percent of total eligible costs. Additionally, federal funds for other needs assistance for both California disasters will increase to 90 percent. The cost share reduction is retroactive to the incident date of each event.
