FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers now open in Bayamón, Manatí, Naranjito, Orocovis

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The government of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) opened Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Bayamón, Manatí, Naranjito and Orocovis on Tuesday Nov. 7.

DRCs serve homeowners, renters and business owners who sustained damage as a result of Hurricane Maria. Specialists from the government of Puerto Rico and municipalities, FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, nongovernmental organizations and the local community will be on hand to help survivors register for assistance, answer questions and provide information on the types of assistance available to survivors. Services are provided in English and Spanish.

The newly opened DRCs are open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Survivors impacted by Hurricane Maria can register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call FEMA toll-free at 800-621-3362 (voice, 711/VRS - Video Relay Service).

Lines are open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Registering with FEMA is the first step toward qualifying for disaster assistance which may include grants to help homeowners and renters pay for temporary housing, essential home repairs, personal property replacements and disaster-related needs not covered by insurance.

Additional DRCs are located in Aguadilla, Arecibo, Barranquitas, Camuy, Carolina, Cayey, Guayama, Guaynabo, Humacao, Mayagüez, Ponce, Rio Grande and Toa Baja.

All DRCs are open 7 days a week.

SBA helps businesses of all sizes, private non-profit organizations, homeowners and renters, which can cover the cost of replacing lost or disaster-damaged real estate and personal property. These disaster loans cover losses not fully compensated by insurance or other recoveries and do not duplicate benefits of other agencies or organizations.
