Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Brock Long spoke today to media outlets about ongoing federal response support to the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

Administrator Long spoke with George Stephanopoulous on ABC News This Week about the value of a strong unified command and the work being done with local and Commonwealth officials. He said “Our guys have been working 42 days now across Texas, Florida, both islands, and we’re going to continue to push forward. We’re not satisfied until the situation is stabilized and sustained.”

On FOX News Sunday, Administrator Long spoke about the complexity of response after Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands were hit not just by one major hurricane but two within a 10-day period. He said “This is the most logistically challenging event the United States has ever seen and we have been moving and pushing as fast as the situation allows.”
