SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Immediate Disaster Case Management (IDCM) is a federal program that assists disaster survivors with resources they may not realize are available. The program pairs non-profit resources with one-on-one case management. “Case managers have access to at least 800 resources,” said Duane Crowder with Magalia Pines Baptist Church, one of the program’s five host sites. “No one’s ever heard of a lot of these organizations. This program is making a difference for people who need help right now.”

The program assigns a case manager to work closely with any Camp Fire survivor to identify resources for unmet, disaster-related needs and to also develop a personalized disaster recovery plan. The program is available to any Camp Fire survivor and is being offered at five locations across Butte County. In fact, beginning the first week of June, the Butte County Employment Center is relocating to 78 Table Mountain Blvd. in Oroville. Please note, the Butte County Employment Center is IDCM’s fixed location; the other four locations are subject to change. IDCM is managed through a partnership between FEMA and the Administration for Children and Families, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. FEMA personnel will not be on-site at the counseling locations; the Administration for Children and Families handles IDCM’s counseling and case management endeavors.
