Casitas Springs Homes Will Be Safer From Flooding

Oakland, Calif. – A new grant to build a storm drain diversion facility will significantly reduce the risk of flooding for 56 homes in Casitas Springs. The $7 million hazard mitigation infrastructure project will safely route floodwaters, sediment and debris from the Fresno Canyon watershed to the Ventura River.  

Use FEMA Grant Funds Wisely

SAIPAN, MP — Disaster recovery officials urge recipients of federal grants to use the money wisely. Federal officials are cautioning residents of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands who have received disaster assistance from FEMA to use the money for its intended purpose and to keep disaster spending receipts for three years.

Help is still available for Mangkhut and Yutu Survivors

SAIPAN, MP — Disaster assistance information is still available for survivors who suffered damages and property loss due to Typhoon Mangkhut and Typhoon Yutu.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) continue to provide assistance at the Multi-Purpose Center on Beach Road in Susupe. The hours of operation of the Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The DLOC is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Severe Weather Closes Chico and Paradise Disaster Recovery Centers Early Today

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Butte County Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Chico and Paradise will be closed today and tomorrow due to incoming severe weather conditions. If assistance is needed, survivors are encouraged to communicate with FEMA via DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585). Multi-lingual operators are available, with toll-free numbers open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (PST).

Chico and Paradise Disaster Recovery Centers to Close March 1
