DENVER – On Wednesday, February 2, the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) serving community members affected by the Marshall Fire and straight-line winds disaster will have a delayed opening due to incoming winter weather. The DRC will open at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and will close at the normal time of 5 p.m.

The center provides a location to ask questions about federal disaster assistance. Representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development can explain available assistance programs and how to apply for them and connect survivors with resources for their recovery needs.

Normal hours will resume on Thursday, February 3. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST Monday through Saturday (closed Sundays).

The Disaster Recovery Center is located at 1755 S. Public Road, Lafayette, Colorado.

In addition to the Disaster Recovery Center, Boulder County renters and homeowners can apply for FEMA assistance or check on the status of their application in the following ways:

  • Going on-line to DisasterAssistance.gov.
  • Calling 800-621-3362 between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. MST. Multilingual operators are available. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA the number for that service.
  • Downloading the FEMA mobile app for smartphones.
