If your home was damaged in the June storms but you can live in it safely, FEMA may be able to provide you money to help with cleanup. Clean and Sanitize Assistance is available for eligible homeowners and renters.
Clean and Sanitize Assistance
If your home was damaged in the June 14-15 storms, but you can live in it safely, you may still be able to get some FEMA assistance to help with cleanup.
You may qualify for Clean and Sanitize assistance if you meet the following criteria:
- Your primary residence was in Marion or Ohio counties when the storms hit.
- FEMA inspector verified you have disaster damage and your primary residence is safe to live in.
- The damage is not covered by your insurance.
If you have already cleaned up, save your receipts from any supplies, materials or paid help.
You only need to apply for FEMA assistance one time. You do not need to submit a separate application for Clean and Sanitize Assistance. The fastest way to apply is online at DisasterAssistance.gov. If you need additional help, you can meet with FEMA staff in person or call 1-800-621-3362.
