The St. Clair County Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) hours will change at both locations starting Monday, November 28.
Survivors should be aware that con artists and criminals may try to obtain money or steal personal information through fraud, scams, or identity theft. In some cases, thieves try to register with FEMA using names, addresses and Social Security numbers they have stolen from survivors.
Renters in St. Clair County may be eligible for FEMA assistance if their home or personal property was damaged in the July floods.
FEMA may be able to help individuals pay for rent, temporary housing, and utilities – like gas, heating, and water bills. FEMA assistance can also be used to help pay for damages to vehicles, furniture, appliances, clothing, school supplies, tools, and other job-related equipment.
Owners and renters in St. Clair County, Ill. who experienced losses from the July 25-28 flooding must be able to prove they occupied the disaster-damaged primary residence before receiving Housing Assistance and some types of Other Needs Assistance. FEMA now accepts a broader range of documentation.
