FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell traveled to Puerto Rico yesterday and met with Gov. Pedro Pierluisi to assess any unmet needs and tour some areas affected by Hurricane Fiona. The Administrator remains in Puerto Rico today, meeting with FEMA staff and touring additional damaged areas.

FEMA deployed one national and four regional Incident Management Teams and two Urban Search and Rescue teams to augment the hundreds of FEMA personnel on the ground. The additional staff will help bolster the Government of Puerto Rico’s response efforts.

There are several steps you can take to keep things moving and speed up your recovery. FEMA has many local and federal partners that can help you take control of your recovery.

San Juan, Puerto Rico — Disaster survivors who are repairing their homes after Hurricane Fiona can visit Walmart in Barceloneta and Mayagüez and National Lumber hardware stores in Cayey, Carolina, Guayama, Guaynabo, Ponce and San Germán to talk with FEMA mitigation specialists about their damage and discuss how to make homes stronger and safer during the rebuilding process.
