Three Disaster Recovery Centers will be closing this week in Fairfield and New Haven counties. While these sites will be closing help is still available, FEMA specialists are still just a phone call or mouse click away.

FEMA has approved a request from the State of Connecticut to allow extra time for residents to register for assistance for damage caused by the Remnants of Hurricane Ida between Sept. 1 and Sept. 2.

Connecticut residents who applied with FEMA for disaster assistance to help recover from Hurricane Ida may receive a letter from FEMA stating they are ineligible. However, this may not be the final answer. If you think FEMA’s decision was incorrect, it’s important to file an appeal with FEMA within 60 days of the date on your eligibility notification letter.
