With the Jan. 28 deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance only a few days away, FEMA—along with their state and federal recovery partners—continue to offer help and resources to those affected by remnants of Hurricane Ida in Fairfield, New London, and New Haven counties.

Homeowners, renters and businesses who had property damage or losses caused by remnants of Hurricane Ida, have two weeks to apply for federal disaster assistance.

If you applied with FEMA for damage and losses caused by remnants of Hurricane Ida, you will receive a letter in the mail explaining your application current status or eligibility for disaster assistance. Read this letter carefully and follow up with any requests for additional information or provide the documentation requested.

Connecticut residents in Fairfield, New Haven and New London counties who suffered damage or losses from remnants of Hurricane Ida, have one month left to apply for disaster assistance with FEMA and low-interest disaster loans with U.S. Small Business Administration.

More than three-months after remnants of Hurricane Ida ripped through Connecticut communities, more than $34 million in direct federal assistance has been disbursed to help individuals, households and businesses on their road to recovery.
