Stamford upgrades hurricane protection barrier and pump stations to build coastal resilience
Stamford, Connecticut: $2.73 million
Project Description
Stamford, located on the Long Island Sound, has experienced significant growth over the past 20 years. Its coastal neighborhoods are home to over 15,000 people. The Stamford Hurricane Protection Barrier and stormwater pump stations are critical to protecting these areas. However, the existing pump stations cannot handle the population growth and intensifying storm events. The project will provide emergency power generators for the pump stations. It will also replace and upgrade the aging pumps and electrical equipment to comply with current building codes.
