Cass County’s flood insurance rate map update is nearing completion. The new maps will provide Cass County with more accurate flood risk information that can help local officials and residents make informed decisions about reducing flood risks and purchasing flood insurance.


Davison County’s flood insurance rate map update is nearing completion. The new maps will provide Davison County with more accurate flood risk information that can help local officials and residents make informed decisions about reducing flood risks and purchasing flood insurance.


New flood maps have been developed for the City of Creede and unincorporated areas of Mineral County. If residents or businesses feel there is an error in the map, they have a 90-day period to provide scientific or engineering data. Any comments on incorrect labels or other minor errors will be received during this time as well.


FEMA will host a series of tribal listening and consultation sessions to update its Tribal Consultation Policy


FEMA and CBP will host public webinars for eligible SSP-C applicants on SSP-C 101, grants management 101, and SSP documentation.


FEMA is hosting several 60-minute webinar sessions to provide an overview of the draft “Engaging Faith-Based and Community Organizations: Planning Considerations for Emergency Managers” and facilitate discussion with participants to gather feedback on additional ways to improve the guide. FEMA seeks input, especially real-world experiences, that can be incorporated into the guide. Advance registration is required.

When organizations, such as food pantries, daycares, and non-profits, are unable to sustain operations during an emergency incident, individuals who rely on them are exponentially impacted. Because of their importance in keeping the community going, OPEN is designed to empower these organizations with emergency preparedness training to better prepare for incidents.


FEMA’s Grant Programs Directorate (GPD) is offering a series of 30-minute training webinars on the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA), a part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). These virtual trainings will be facilitated by GPD’s Buy America Branch (BAB) and offered on various dates from April through August 2024. The trainings will cover a variety of topics related to BABAA, including roles and responsibilities, best practices, covered products, and waivers.
