Chief Technology Officer (Acting)

Mr. Montgomery has over seven years at FEMA as the Chief Enterprise Architect and over 18 years in federal service at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Department of Education.  As FEMA’s Enterprise Architect he has worked in the evaluation and deployment efforts of innumerable technologies supporting critical communications and networking capabilities, cybersecurity, cloud, automation, and many others.  He has partnered across FEMA as the Co-Chair of the Data Governance Council since its inception and represents FEMA at the DHS Chief Architects Forum.  Montgomery founded the FEMA Technology Community of Practice.  Montgomery holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Furman University, a Masters Certificate in IT Project Management from The George Washington University, and is currently pursuing a post graduate degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the McCombs School of Business as part of the University of Texas Austin.  Montgomery is also certified from the Project Management Institute (PMI) as both a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) as well as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
