Guaynabo, Puerto Rico – All government of Puerto Rico/FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) throughout the island will close at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5 and will remain closed on Saturday, Jan. 6, in observance of Three Kings Day.

DRCs offer survivors of Hurricanes Irma and Maria a place to register for disaster assistance in person, especially residents who still have connectivity challenges. Representatives from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are available to answer questions and provide information on the types of federal help available to homeowners, renters and business owners that have experienced damage as a result of the hurricanes.

The first step in qualifying for federal disaster assistance is to register with FEMA. You can register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, at a DRC or by calling FEMA at 800-621-3362 (voice, 711/VRS - Video Relay Service). TTY call 800-462-7585. Multilingual operators are available. (Press 2 for Spanish). The deadline for Puerto Rico Hurricane Irma and Maria survivors to register for FEMA assistance has been extended to March 20, 2018.
