WARNER ROBINS, Ga. – The state and FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers open in Crisp and Turner counties for the January storms are set to close permanently.
The center in Crisp County, at the Crisp County Fire Department, will close Saturday, Feb. 18, at 5 p.m. It will be open Wednesday, Feb. 15, Thursday, Feb. 16, and Friday, Feb.17, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The center in Turner County, at the Turner Civic Center, will close Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. Until then it will be open Wednesday — Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The center is closed Sunday.
As any Disaster Recovery Center closes, those affected by the January storms are reminded that FEMA is a phone call, a mouse click and the FEMA app away.
Stay in touch with FEMA through the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. Persons who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY may call 800-462-7585. If you use 711 or VRS you can still use the Helpline number.
With any computer, smartphone or tablet, log onto DisasterAssistance.gov. Download the FEMA mobile app from Google Play, the Apple App Store or fema.gov/mobile-app.
For those who might be eligible for disaster assistance but have not yet registered can do so by calling the Helpline, online or via the FEMA app.
The toll-free numbers are open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Help is available in most languages, and information on the registration process is available in ASL at http://www.fema.gov/media-library/assets/videos/111546.
