CAGUAS, Puerto Rico – As the people of Puerto Rico repair and rebuild their homes, FEMA has teamed with National Lumber to provide free information and tips on how to make homes damaged by earthquakes and hurricanes stronger and safer.

 

FEMA mitigation community education and outreach specialists are available Monday, March 2 to Saturday, March 7 in Cabo Rojo and Peñuelas.

The specialists will share successful methods to prevent or reduce damage from disasters and suggest techniques to build hazard-resistant homes. Most of the information and free publications provided are aimed at general contractors and those who take on do-it-yourself projects.

 

Teams will also share information on earthquakes and other natural disasters, and offer mitigation advice for damage caused by natural disasters.

 

All information and assistance will be available in English and Spanish.
