ATLANTA – Coahoma, Leflore, Sunflower, and Washington counties in Mississippi are now eligible to receive federal funding to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred Feb. 22 – March 29, 2019.
The State and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations in the following counties were previously designated for federal grants under FEMA’s Public Assistance program: Alcorn, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Clay, Grenada, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Lowndes, Montgomery, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tishomingo, Union, Webster, and Yalobusha.
All designated counties could receive federal funding on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities.
