Squishy Dog

Garry and Donna Shinn tell the story of their response to Hurricane Sandy, which devastated a portion of their home in Oceanside, New York on October 29, 2012, when the storm surge from the hurricane submerged their car and enveloped the first floor of their home. Their dog Franny was a Hurricane Sandy disaster survivor. Donna Shinn emphatically states that dogs are "family" and need to be a part of FEMA's response to disasters. - Location: Oceanside, NY
