Seeking Public Comment on a Draft Programmatic Agreement Governing FEMA’s NHPA Compliance Responsibilities in Ohio

FEMA is soliciting written comments from those agencies, organizations, and individuals regarding the Draft Programmatic Agreement governing FEMA’s responsibilities under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act with regards to federally funded actions in the State of Ohio.

Interested persons are hereby notified that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Ohio State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (Ohio EMA), and participating Tribal Nations have developed a programmatic agreement (PA) to streamline Section 106 reviews conducted by FEMA for federally funded actions in Ohio. The draft PA defines the responsibilities of FEMA, Ohio EMA, Ohio SHPO, and participating Tribal Nations in the review of these projects.
Anyone interested in providing comment on the draft PA may respond as noted below before June 8, 2022. Be sure to provide your name and contact information along with your comments.
If no substantive comments are received, the draft PA will become final and be presented for signature to the signatory parties.
