Social Vulnerability in Environmental Hazards
SoVI® (Social Vulnerability Index) measures the social vulnerability of U.S. counties to natural disasters and other hazards. Since social vulnerability is directly proportional to a community's capacity for preparedness and recovery, SoVI® is a good predictor of where resources might be used most effectively. SoVI® is also useful as an indicator in determining the differential recovery from disasters. This site provides data at the Census Tract level.
