Disaster Grants - Public Assistance (Presidentially Declared Disasters) (97.036)

FEMA is authorized to provide PA funding for Emergency Work, including emergency protective measures and debris removal (categories A and B) and permanent work (categories C - G). FEMA has authority to provide PA funding for cost-effective hazard mitigation measures for facilities damaged by the incident. FEMA PA requires a Major Disaster or Emergency declaration by the President, and the federal cost share is 75%.

FEMA may provide assistance for emergency protective measures to state, local, territorial and tribal entities. Emergency Protective Measures eliminate or lessen immediate threats to lives, public health or safety.
