FEMA Transportable Temporary Housing Units (TTHUs) (Manufactured Housing Units (MHUs) and Travel Trailers (TTs)) are property of the federal government. Approved occupants may be eligible to use their FEMA provided unit for up to 18 months from the date of disaster declaration while seeking permanent housing. They must follow the terms and conditions of their licensing in agreement with FEMA. Here are answers to frequently asked questions:

FEMA may provide Direct Temporary Housing Assistance for up to 18 months from the date of the disaster declaration when adequate, alternate housing is unavailable, and the occupants cannot fulfill their permanent housing plan through no fault of their own.

FEMA is processing applications and identifying eligible survivors for Direct Temporary Housing Assistance which can include a Transportable Housing Unit (TTHU) such as a Travel Trailer (TT) or Manufactured Housing Unit (MHU).

If you applied for FEMA assistance, you will receive a decision letter in the mail or via email. If you disagree with the decision about your eligibility, you can appeal within 60 days from the date on that letter.
