CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The state-federal Disaster Recovery Centers in Boone and Roane counties will be closed Friday, Sept. 27, because of forecast inclement weather. Pending any effects from the weather, the centers are scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The deadline for West Virginia storm survivors to register for federal assistance has been extended to Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) granted the extension at the request of West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, citing a continued flow of new applications for federal assistance in the wake of the April 11-12 floods, landslides, and mudslides.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – More than $6 million has been approved for homeowners and renters in West Virginia after the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, flooding, landslides and mudslides of April 2-6, 2024.  Federal disaster assistance is available to residents of 11 counties: Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne and Wetzel. The application deadline was July 22. West Virginians can still get assistance with applications by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov or an in-person Disaster Recovery Center.

Today is the final day for residents in Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne and Wetzel counties to apply for FEMA Assistance if they had damages during the April 2-6, 2024, floods and tornadoes. The deadline to apply is today, July 22, 2024.
