Crisis-counseling services are available to Californians affected by the severe storms and flooding that took place in February and March in Kern, Madera, Mariposa, Mendocino, Mono, Monterey, San Benito, San Bernardino, Santa Cruz, Tulare and Tuolumne counties.
Homeowners and renters in disaster-designated counties affected by the recent severe winter storms and flooding may now have access to free legal advice for disaster-related legal issues. Residents can call a Disaster Legal Service hotline at 888-382-3406 or go to http://freelegalanswers.org.
California residents who applied for assistance from FEMA for the severe winter storms and flooding, landslides and mudslides that took place in February and March will receive a determination letter within a few weeks. The letter will explain whether you were approved for disaster assistance and how much.
Residents of Madera, Mendocino and Mono counties are now eligible for federal disaster assistance through FEMA.
