Salem, Oregon – Residents of Umatilla County and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation affected by the severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides during February 5-9, 2020, are eligible to receive crisis counseling.

Community-based outreach and educational services can assist in recovering from the psychological effects of disasters. Crisis counseling is not always needed for natural disasters but has value in this instance.

Salem, Oregon – June 23, 2020 - The deadline to register for FEMA disaster assistance is July 2, 2020. Residents of Umatilla County and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation who sustained uninsured damage from the flooding that occurred Feb. 5-9 are encouraged to register for disaster assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It’s important to note that financial assistance from FEMA for flood loss/damage does not affect unemployment, Social Security or Medicaid benefits.

Salem, Oregon – Over a period of just two months, a combined total of more than $3 million in disaster assistance funds are in the hands of residents of Umatilla County and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation to help recover from severe storms, flooding and landslides that occurred in northeast Oregon February 5-9, 2020.

Salem, Oregon – The deadline to register for disaster assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been extended to July 2, 2020, for residents of Umatilla County and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation who sustained damage or loss due to the February storms and flooding.

Salem, Oregon – If you sustained damage from the severe flooding in Eastern Oregon February 5 – 9, 2020, you should apply for a low-interest disaster loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Disaster survivors who register for assistance with FEMA may be eligible for grants to help pay for renting a place to live until your home can be repaired, to pay for minor structural repairs, replace essential personal property and/or pay for serious disaster-related needs not covered by other programs.
