As any Disaster Recovery Center closes, those affected by the January storms are reminded that FEMA is a phone call, a mouse click and the FEMA app away.
- Stay in touch with FEMA through the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.
- Persons who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY may call 800-462-7585. If you use 711 or VRS, you can still use the Helpline number.
- Help is also available by:
- Logging onto DisasterAssistance.gov.
- Downloading the FEMA mobile app from Google Play, the Apple App Store or fema.gov/mobile-app.
- FEMA needs to know about any changes of information such as mailing addresses, phone numbers, and updates on insurance claims, for examples. Not having the most recent information can delay the process. It is important to have the nine-digit registration number handy, assigned when anyone registers with FEMA.
- Answers and guidance on the progress of a case, how to appeal a FEMA decision, what FEMA money can be used to pay for, and other inquiries can be addressed on the Helpline. If additional damage is discovered that might qualify for FEMA help, let us know.
