The application period is now open for the FEMA Region 5 Virtual Internship Program, an opportunity for students living in or attending colleges or universities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin to get hands-on training in the growing field of emergency management. These unpaid positions will offer students the chance to learn about FEMA programs and services and gain real-world experience with the potential for future full-time employment at FEMA or another federal agency.

FEMA announced today young leaders across the nation can now apply to become a part of the 2023 Youth Preparedness Council (YPC).
YPC members are students in grades 8 through 11 who are selected to support disaster preparedness and make a difference in their communities. The YPC is an opportunity for young people to engage with FEMA and provide their perspectives, feedback and opinions related to preparedness, grow their leadership skills and support the resilience of their communities.
