Response Geospatial Office

Capture, analyze and develop GIS products to enhance situational awareness and enable expeditions and effective decision making.

Our Mission

Support decision makers in understanding the size, scope, and extent of disaster impacts so they can deliver resources to the communities most in need.

What We Do

  • The RGO, within the Planning and Exercise Division of the Response Directorate, leads the development and maintenance of all-hazard, risk-based geospatial and data analytic modeling and statistical capabilities.
  • The office provides information products, tools, and subject matter expertise throughout the disaster lifecycle to establish situational awareness, characterize hazard risks to community lifelines, prioritize response missions, assess damages, and expedite grant delivery and recovery efforts, among others.
  • Through the Geospatial Resource Center, the RGO supports the emergency management community with world-class geospatial information, services, and technologies to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate against all hazards.
