Charleston, W.Va.– A state-federal Mobile Disaster Recovery Center will open tomorrow, June 11, 2024, at 8 a.m. at the John Slack Park Parking Lot in Boone County to help West Virginia residents affected by the April 2-6 severe storms. Individuals in Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne and Wetzel counties can apply for assistance from FEMA. Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers are outside and exposed to weather. Visitors should be prepared to be outside for short periods of time as they get assistance.

FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Idaho to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by a severe storm, flooding landslides and mudslides from April 14-15, 2024.

FEMA may be able to provide financial assistance to help survivors whose vehicles were damaged as a result of the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, landslides and mudslides that occurred on April 2.
Today, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced that Arkansas and Massachusetts are each eligible for up to $20 million in funding to reduce flood risks and Texas is eligible for up to another $40 million.
