More than seven months have passed since former President Joe Biden declared a major disaster in New Mexico. Under the declaration, he ordered federal financial assistance to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by the South Fork and Salt Fires that began on June 17, 2024, and the subsequent flooding.
CHICAGO – Through the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program, FEMA has awarded $933,750 to the city of Detroit to design a cost-effective flood mitigation project within and adjacent to the Michigan-Martin neighborhood on Detroit’s west side to help alleviate ongoing flooding issues in the downtown area.
COLUMBIA, S.C. – If you receive a letter from FEMA saying you are ineligible for assistance, you can appeal the decision and provide more information. It is possibly something as simple as missing documentation or information.
