San Juan, Puerto Rico — It has been just over two months since Hurricane Fiona impacted individuals and communities across Puerto Rico. The heavy rains and strong winds damaged homes, businesses and critical infrastructure. The deadline is approaching for some National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policyholders in Florida areas impacted by Hurricane Ian to renew their policies without the consequence of a lapse in coverage. NFIP Policyholders with renewal dates of Aug. 25 Through Oct. 23 need to take action.

WASHINGTON -- FEMA announced today that additional disaster assistance is available to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico through an increase in the level of federal funding for Public Assistance projects undertaken in the Commonwealth as a result of Hurricane Fiona during the period of Sept. 17-21, 2022.
