Two Fixed Disaster Recovery Centers to Close, but Seven Mobile Centers are Opening

Oklahoma City, OK – Two state/federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Creek and Payne counties will be closing Saturday, July 20. But seven mobile DRCs are opening in new locations in the coming week, starting today, July 18, to help survivors of the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that occurred from May 7 to June 9, 2019 in Oklahoma.

 

The following DRCs will cease operations at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 20:

 

Creek County

The state/federal Mobile DRCs that are opening allow state and local officials to reach as many affected areas and survivors as possible. The centers offer in-person support to Oklahoma homeowners, renters and business owners who sustained damage or losses during the storms and flooding.

 

Recovery specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) will be at the centers to talk about assistance and to help anyone who needs guidance in filing an application.

 

Mobile DRCs will be opening at the following locations (see different opening and closing dates below each address). The mobile DRCs’ hours are: Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Sunday.

Low-interest disaster loans from the SBA are available to businesses, private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters to cover residential and business losses as a result of the disaster. Applicants can apply at their nearest disaster recovery center or online using SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.

 

In addition, applicants can contact SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955, by visiting www.sba.gov/disaster or by emailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing may call 800-877-8339.

 

Homeowners, renters and businesses can apply for FEMA disaster assistance or get additional information by visiting one of the mobile DRCs or in the following ways:

  • Online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
  • Phoning FEMA’s helpline at 800-621-3362 (voice, 711/VRS-Video Relay Service) (TTY: 800-462-7585). Multilingual operators are available (press 2 for Spanish).
  • Via the FEMA app, available for Apple and Android mobile devices. To download visit: fema.gov/mobile-app.
