More than $100 Million in FEMA Grants Approved for Pennsylvanians

Release Date:
Janvier 10, 2022

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Just four months after President Biden approved a major disaster declaration for eight counties in Pennsylvania, FEMA has provided over $100 million for homeowners and renters affected by the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

FEMA has provided $74.7 million for housing assistance as well as $25.6 million for other needs assistance.

In addition, the U.S. Small Business Administration has provided more than $47 million in loans to 1,028 households and 73 businesses.

The National Flood Insurance Program has also paid out $80.2 million to 1,465 claimants.

This brings to a total more than $227 million in federal assistance that went directly into the hands of survivors in Bedford, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, and York counties and allowed them to start on their road to recovery and return to a sense of normalcy.

These numbers are likely to increase as FEMA continues to process registrations received by the January 10, 2022 deadline.

FEMA would like to remind people that disaster assistance is not a substitute for insurance and cannot compensate for all losses caused by a disaster. This assistance is intended to meet basic needs and supplement disaster recovery efforts.
