WASHINGTON — The whole-of-America response to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic continued today, as National Guardsmen provide much-needed support from Ohio to New Mexico.

Meanwhile, FEMA’s Region 3 office is coordinating medical supplies distribution from a Republic of Turkey donation. 

FEMA continues to expedite movement of commercially pre-sourced and procured critical supplies from the global market to medical distributors in various locations across the U.S. through Project Airbridge.

As of May 4, Project Airbridge has completed 117 flights with an additional 19 scheduled or in transit.  One flight landed in Chicago May 4.  Three flights are scheduled to land today in Chicago.

Through Project Airbridge, the following supplies have been delivered from overseas manufacturers to the U.S. and into private sector supply chains from March 29 to May 4:

  • More than 768,000 N-95 masks.
  • More than 874 million gloves.
  • More than 79.1 million surgical masks.
  • More than 13.38 million surgical gowns.
  • More than 2.2 million thermometers.
  • More than 742,000 face shields.
  • More than 324,000 coveralls.
  • More than 109,000 stethoscopes.
  • More than 370,000 oxygen masks.
  • More than 250,000 swabs.
  • More than 160,000 cannulas.

FEMA has obligated more than $5.8 billion in emergency protective measures. In the last week that amount includes an additional $6.4 million to California.

FEMA’s Region 3 Receives Medical Supply Donations from Turkey

PHILADELPHIA (May 1, 2020) — Masks, Tyvek suits and other medical supplies donated from the Republic of Turkey are stored in a FEMA Region 3 warehouse for sorting and distribution. This shipment was coordinated through the efforts of Department of State, Department of Defense and FEMA.

Ohio National Guardsmen, Food Bank Serve Those in Need

BRYAN, Ohio (May 4, 2020) — U.S. Army Pfc. Dakota Fouts, assigned to the Ohio National Guard’s Golf Company 237, loads vegetables into a community member’s vehicle at The Revival Hub in Bryan. The Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank provided boxed meals at The Revival Hub. More than 500 Ohio National Guard members are activated to provide humanitarian missions in support of COVID-19 relief efforts.
